This year’s legislative session ends on Monday. During this last-minute crush and push, my colleagues and I are working overtime to pass a balanced budget and other vital legislation. Most of my efforts will be on the pivotal energy bill making its way to the finish line. Throughout the session I have been laser-focused on ensuring Maryland’s energy policies provide abundant and affordable clean energy to protect both rate-payers and our planet.
My next newsletter will recap the key legislation to have made it over the finish line.

Hands Off Our Rights Rally: Saturday, April 5th
While I must stay in Annapolis for these important votes (yes, all day Saturday!), my spirit will be down on the Mall for the People’s Veto Day. I hope you will consider joining in peaceful dissent to the Trump administration’s unprecedented assault on so many things we hold dear: the rule of law, justice, compassion, and common sense. When so much is being torn apart, there is power in standing together.
Time: Saturday, April 5, 12 noon–3:30 pm

Community Potluck: Saturday, April 12th

I also believe in the power of sitting together to share food while building community! Along with Clifton Baptist Church, Impact Silver Spring, and Takoma Park Mobilization, I am sponsoring a Community Potluck to do exactly that. It will be held at Clifton Park Baptist Church at 8818 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Please join us!
