Primary Election is Underway!
Maryland’s Primary Elections have begun and I urge you all to vote! Our democracy depends on citizens actively participating in the process.

The State Board of Elections is the official source of information about the elections in Maryland. Get information there about:
Mail-In Ballots
Early Voting (June 11-18) at select locations, including the Silver Spring Civic Center and the White Oak Recreation Center
Primary Day (June 23) at your local polling location.
If you live in District 20, I would be honored if you would vote for me!
Sign up to volunteer with my team
Thank you so much for your steadfast support. As we race into the final weeks before the primary, you can still pitch in!
With Early Voting starting tomorrow, I’m aiming to have my team at every polling location during Early Voting and around the district on Primary Election Day. My team will continue knocking on doors throughout District 20 up to Primary Day as well.
If you’re interested in representing me at polling locations or knocking doors for a few hours, sign up here. It’s a fun way to connect with voters and volunteers from other campaigns while you watch democracy in action. My Field Director, Eli Brennan, will reach out to you once you sign up.
Coal Does Not Make Economic (or Environmental) Sense
As I recently discussed on WMAR, I was appalled but not surprised to hear of President Trump’s plan to subsidize the use of coal for power generation here in Maryland and across the country. It just does not make any sense to me. Plants using coal have closed in recent years because they were uneconomical. Forcing coal plants to re-open will raise costs for consumers and pollute our communities. It’s time to move on with readily available technologies such as battery storage.

Power in the Park: June 25th

It’s also a fun day with music, food, children’s activities, and our wonderful community. It will be on June 25th from 6:00 - 7:30 pm at New Hampshire Estates Park at 8825 Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring.

Meals on Wheels Could Use More Helping Hands
Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring is seeking new volunteers on weekdays to help prepare and deliver meals for adults who are homebound. To get started, fill out their brief online application or call (301) 434-1922. And for an inside look at the volunteer experience and impact you can make, check out this AARP News story featuring local D20 volunteers.
Fundraiser a Great success!
Thanks to everyone who donated to and attended my June 1st Fundraiser. Speaker Joseline Peña-Melnyk inspired us all with her encouragement and example of standing up and speaking out for what you believe–and financially supporting candidates like me! Plus, we had SO much fun playing “Find Lorig’s Supporters” bingo! (Email jill@lorig.us if you want to know how to say “little quail” in Armenian.)
Yard signs
Nothing says love like a Lorig sign in your yard or apartment window. Sign up here to have one hand-delivered by one of my fabulous interns to your home.
