Power to the People, in the Park, and across the USA!

Dear Friend:

I am honored and grateful to officially be one of the three Democratic nominees for the Maryland House of Delegates in District 20. Thank you!

All Blue in ‘22! Now onto the General Election in November to help build an even stronger Democratic presence in Annapolis! Please consider joining me as I canvass around the state for my colleagues in tough districts to ensure a Democratic supermajority in the House and Senate. We will also be working hard to elect Wes Moore for Governor, Brooke Lierman for Comptroller, and Anthony Brown for Attorney General.

On Sunday, August 14th, my campaign and I will be heading down to St. Mary’s County to canvass for Delegate Brian Crosby who faces a tough race in a purple district. Interested in this or future canvassing opportunities? Sign up here.

The stakes are also very high in neighboring Pennsylvania. If you want to get involved there, you can join my friends in Silver Spring Progressive Action to canvass and phonebank for the crucial races of Senate and Governor. Sign up here.

Power in the Park: This Thursday!

Join me as I host my second annual Power in the Park this Thursday, August 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at New Hampshire Estates Neighborhood Park (8825 Piney Branch Road, at University Boulevard)!

At this family friendly event, community members can learn how to make their homes energy efficient, use clean energy, and sign up for government programs to directly lower their utility bills. Make your home or apartment greener, cleaner, and healthier!

Last year, the first Power in the Park was a great success and connected many residents with resources to help them save energy. Power in the Park will feature resource booths with government agencies and community organizations. Attendees can sign up for energy assistance, efficiency upgrades, and community solar programs. There will also be giveaways of home comfort kits and LED light bulbs, plus a raffle for two countertop induction cooktops.

We will also have free food from Jalapeño Mexican Grill (a TP/SS Community Kitchen vendor), activities for kids, and music. I hope to see you on Thursday!

National Recognition for Maryland’s Climate Initiatives

Recently, I moderated a panel on “Utility Policy for the Climate-Committed” at the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators National Conference in Denver. We discussed several pieces of legislation I have passed in Maryland that serve as models for other states.
