I'm Voting YES!

Your vote truly matters on two key issues this year:

•    Protecting reproductive freedom in Maryland; and

•    Ensuring Maryland’s Senate seat is held by a Democrat.

What can you do?

•    Make a plan to vote so your voice is heard.

•    Talk about the issues and why they’re important to you with friends and family.

•    Canvass with me to help spread the word (see dates below).

•    Financially contribute to the issues and races that matter most to you.

Vote Yes on Question 1 for Reproductive Freedom

Reproductive freedom is on the ballot in Maryland this fall.  Voters will decide whether to amend the “Declaration of Rights” in the Maryland Constitution.  Doing so will confirm that everyone has the fundamental right to reproductive freedom, including the right to abortion access and birth control.

It’s more crucial than ever to ensure Marylanders have the right to make decisions for themselves and their families. This vote needs to be overwhelmingly in favor of reproductive freedom.

I am on the host committee for a fundraiser for Freedom in Reproduction - Maryland (FIRM), which is promoting the statewide effort.  The event will be in Potomac on Sunday, September 22nd, at 2:30 p.m.  Donate and/or R.S.V.P. to that event here.

VOTE for ANGELA ALSOBROOKS!

The stakes are so high for Maryland’s Senate race this year.  Once Larry Hogan entered the race, we knew it would be very competitive.  Even if you believe Hogan was a “good governor”—an assessment I respectfully and completely disagree with—voting for a Republican in this race could have devastating consequences nationwide.

Senate Republicans voted in Supreme Court justices who took away reproductive freedoms and now routinely disregard the Constitution and legal precedence.  With Democrats in control of the Senate, we were able to pass historic climate legislation, lowered costs of families’ everyday expenses, and began rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure and middle class.  Democratic control of the U.S. Senate is vital to continue the legislative strides we have made over the past four years.

That’s why I am strongly supporting Angela Alsobrooks.  As a prosecutor and a county executive, she has fought hard to make life better for our families and communities.  Her policy and advocacy work is grounded in the very real concerns of everyday people. With many friends and colleagues, I am a sponsor of an Angela Alsobrooks fundraiser to be held in downtown Silver Spring on Monday, September 30th, at 7:00 p.m.  Join us!  Donate and/or R.S.V.P. here.
